FPD Mentee Position Available for 2018-19

MANA is seeking candidates for the Federal Political Director (FPD) Mentee position.  The FPD Mentee will work with the FPD, Julie Gauderman, in coordinating grassroots legislative lobbying efforts and keeping the members informed.  This individual will serve as a role model/mentor to prospective and current students and CRNAs and encourage involvement by educating students and CRNAs about legislative issues.
 
The Federal Political Director Mentee position is an appointed position and will be selected by the officers and directors of the MANA board. The following criteria must be met before being considered for the Federal Political Director Mentee Program:

  • Must be a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) in good standing.
  • If the applicant is a student he or she must be enrolled and in good academic standing at one of the accredited nurse anesthesia programs in the state of Minnesota.
  • A student applicant must provide a recommendation from their Program Director.

As the FPD Mentee, this individual will be expected (to the extent possible) to attend MANA board meetings, the annual MANA fall meeting, and the AANA Mid-Year Assembly. At all of the activities, the mentee will participate at the level requested by the MANA board.  Funding will be available to cover some of the travel costs for the AANA Mid-Year Assembly.

If you are interested in this position, please submit a letter to the MANA Board of Directors indicating your interest and goals in becoming the FPD Mentee by Wednesday, September 5, 2018.  If you are a student, you must also request a letter of recommendation from your Program Director.  Letters may be mailed to the MANA Office at 4248 Park Glen Road, Minneapolis, MN 55416 or emailed to admin@mnana.org.
